Antimicrobial Smart Particles

In hygienic environments, labor-intensive disinfection is the primary method of protection against microorganisms and biofilm formation. Antimicrobial coatings are a passive way to support these efforts by killing pathogens on surfaces 24/7. However, there are very limited options for commercial products that deliver antimicrobial protection in many paint systems for both space and earthly use (such as healthcare, food production and high traffic environments).

Leveraging its Smart Particle technology, SynMatter has developed antimicrobial Smart Particles that impart heavy-metal free antimicrobial performance into many coating systems.

As shown above, antimicrobial Smart Particles effectively kill both both cells and spores even after being embedded into a solventborne aerospace grade coatings.

In JIS Z 2801 testing, coatings with antimicrobial Smart Particles deliver consistent 5-log reductions in bacterial survival ≡ 99.999% killing efficacy.
